Deployment Health Surveillance
Background
To ensure that Sailors and Marines are medically ready, health assessments are conducted before and after deployments. Health assessments identify medical concerns and exposures before and after deployment with follow-up of referrals if deemed necessary by a health care professional. The data contained in the health assessments are utilized for with other medical databases such as ambulatory and inpatient data to identify health issues before and after deployment and patient follow-up of medical concerns.

- Develop, design and conduct studies that pertain to deployment health.
