In support of our mission to improve the value of Navy Medicine, Health Analysis focuses on working closely with Military Treatment Facilities to understand the needs and concerns of our patients, clinicians, and employees throughout the Navy Medicine community.
Through the use of clinical and epidemiologic evidence, Health Analysis aims to improve clinic processes and health outcomes across Navy Medicine.
Our team of clinical epidemiologists, program managers, technical and public affairs personnel and others are dedicated to providing critical information and services including:
- Interpret clinical data and metric performance
- Summarize specific health conditions/diseases
- Guide resource allocation for clinics through demand forecasting
- Develop performance benchmarks at the clinic, regional, and enterprise-wide level
- Assess economic resources and cost analysis

Demand Forecasting Tool: Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Screening
The Demand Forecasting Tool provides an easy, useful method for Military Treatment Facilities to identify potential gaps in their ability to deliver CRC screening and its population's need. The tool assists with decision-making on securing resources necessary for increasing performance.
The goal of the tool is to assist clinics in reaching required benchmarks and outcomes for colorectal cancer screening.
Health Analysis created this tool in a way that allows any MTF to receive facility-specific results. The user-friendly tool provides projections at the 6 month, 1 year and 10 year marks.

Military Health System Population Health Portal (MHSPHP) CarePoint Support
In addition to supporting the Performance Based Budget (PBB) through metric development, Health Analysis also provides consulting services and individual case management for MTFs regarding the MHSPHP CarePoint, formerly the Population Health Navigator. Navy Tumor Registry
BUMED's Navy Tumor Registry Consultant (NTRC) is housed within Health Analysis. NTRC roles include:
- Drive the development of Navy's Tumor Registry program.
- Technical expertise and guidance in support of facility cancer registries and programs.
- Monitor quality, validity, and accuracy of cancer data and success in meeting DON standards for patient follow-up and case-finding.
- Develop memoranda of agreement between facilities if any one facility does not have qualified staff or frequency of services does not warrant its own registry.
- Provide research prot9ocol review prior to IRB submission to ensure scope of data items requested from the Automated Central Tumor Registry (ACTUR) database supports research aim and objectives.
- Furnish expertise to those facilities seeking Commission on Cancer program approval (including guidance on the establishment of cancer committees and tumor boards).
