Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease spread by the bite of infected sand flies. The most common forms are cutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis.
The treatment for cutaneous leishmaniasis requires a medication which must be given under an IND (Investigational New Drug) protocol, held by the Army. For more details see link. (*)
