Follow-up (BUMEDINST 6222.10C) - appropriate referrals for patients with syphilis include:
- Hepatits B vaccine (perhaps Hep A also) series if not already vaccinated or immune
- HIV test
- HIV-STD Prevention Counseling - contact NMCPHC SHARP
- Sexual Partner Counseling and Referral - contact NMCPHC SHARP
- Repeat RPR or VDRL at 6 and 12 months. CDC-MMWR 51; RR-6
