Navy Health Promotion Basics Course, Level I Now Available on NKO!
The recently developed Navy Health Promotion (HP) Basics Course, Level I, developed for any Navy personnel who have been assigned as the Health Promotion Coordinators/Director at their command, is now available through Navy E-Learning on NKO. This course is specifically designed to meet the HP training needs of personnel at smaller Navy Fleet and Shore commands and Reserve Component (RC) personnel assigned as HP Coordinators for their NOSCs or Detachments. The Level I course gives students the knowledge needed to plan, implement, and evaluate an HP Program at the command level. It is the prerequisite training for the one day classroom Navy HP Basics Course, Level II, which gives students the opportunity to gain "hands-on" experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating an HP Program for their commands.
The Level I course can be accessed on NKO (https://wwwa.nko.navy.mil/portal/home/)
using either of these two methods:
- Log onto NKO, select Navy E-Learning under Learning, select Browse Categories under Content, select Department of the Navy Training, select Navy Medical Education & Training, select the course by title (it's on page 2 of the course listing). The title of the course is Navy Health Promotion Basics Course Level 1.
OR
- Log onto NKO, select Navy E-Learning under Learning, select Advanced Search under Content, and then either type in the course title (above) in the Catalog Title or type in the course number (NMHPB081) under Course Code.
The one-day classroom follow-up Navy HP Basics Course, Level II will be offered for both general (i.e. smaller Fleet and Navy Branch Medical Clinics) and specific audiences (i.e. Reserve Component). All scheduled courses will be posted on this website as the date, location, targeted audience, and point of contact (POC) information is made available.
Reminder: The online Navy HP Basics Course, Level I course discussed above is the required prerequisite training to attend the Level II course. Individuals requesting a quota to attend the courses listed will be contacted regarding the process to submit their Certificate of Completion for the Level I course they plan to attend.
