This page provides situational awareness on the response to the magnitude 9.0 earthquake that occured near the east coast of Honshu, Japan on 10 March 2011 at 9:46 PM Pacific Standard Time. This earthquake generated a tsunami and together they caused injury, loss of life, and severe damage to many areas within Japan.
